Systemet kan fjerndetektere bremser med feil på avstand ved hjelp av infrarød stråling, og vil for eksempel kunne bedre sikkerheten i veitunneller. Installasjoner vil settes i drift over hele landet for utprøving.

The tunnel will have large traffic volumes, and proportionally advanced technical installations. Aventi Technology has delivered the control system and automatic incident detection for the Bjørvika tunnel, and in addition the incident detection in the adjacent Festning tunnel. All the systems are fully integrated with existing operator stations at the Oslo traffic control centre.

This is a new milestone for Aventi Technology AS, contractor for the control system.

Despite a challenging project with some delivery issues, Aventi Technology AS solved all challenges and has delivered a plant that fully meets the very strict requirements for safety approval.

Roger Herheim, the project manager at Aventi Technology, is now happy to see the project closure though some smaller issues are still to be solved. He would like to emphasize the huge effort some of the engineers have put into the project during the summer time. – “We are humble about this effort, and especially grateful for the flexibility the team has shown in commitment to finish the project”, says a smiling Mr. Herheim.

The Knappetunnelen project is the largest ever for Aventi Technology, and a very important opening for the company in the traffic market. –“We have gained new experiences through this project, both regarding implementation and technical solutions, and we have already started imbedding these experiences in our daily business”, says Herheim, who also point out that the company will be an important player in this market in the years to come. –“We now invest further experience and competence within ITS in general, and are employing more engineers to fulfill important roles and make us even more prepared to handle large and complex control system tasks in the future.”

The delivery includes:

  • The control system, including camera monitoring and variable signs
  • 129 control cabinets and 4 main distributions all including a PLC
  • 100 cameras and event detection
  • 145 switches and 4 routers
  • 170 lane signs
  • 9 barriers
  • Variable signs and illuminated signs
  • 6 graphic panels for emergency control panel and pump station
